Anthroposophy
Anthroposophy is a philosophy that speaks to the fundamental questions of humanity. Founded by the philosopher Rudolf Steiner in 1912, anthroposophy has been applied to medicine, education, architecture and design.
Steiner envisioned "organic design" in line with the natural principles, design that would "actively draw into space and shape the activities of higher worlds".
The essence of anthroposophical design was The Goetheanum - a building designed by Steiner himself. The result was rather radical: a vast domed roof, thick stained glass windows and wooden carvings, and - most shocking of all - no sharp angles.
